Shawshara.com has been missing one of the most important Arabic singers: Fairuz. We’ve just completed adding a section for Fairuz along with some of her most important works. With over 400 songs recorded our start is considered humble. We currently have around 90 songs covered, though we believe that with the help of Shawshara.com’s community we’ll be able to increase that number and cover all her songs.
We’ve been working hard over that past month to bring a new and fresh look to Shawshara.com. The new look went live today bringing with it a more pleasant user interface that is easier to navigate. We hope you like the new look as much as we enjoyed working on it.
Shawshara.com and Facebook are coming together with the introduction of the Facebook application “Arabic Song of the Day“. With every new day this application will bring a new Arabic song to your Facebook profile. This includes the song’s lyrics, translation, transliteration and music video. The young and upcoming singer and entertainer Myriam Faris has been added to Shawshara. We also added the lyrics to her album Bet’oul Eih.
The lyrics for the Rachid Taha’s 2004 “Tekitoi?” or “Who are you?” album was just added to Shawshara.
Amr Diab’s Aktar Wahed has just been added to Shawshara. That’s a total of 10 songs their translation and transliteration.
Shawshara.com just hired a new full time employee: Shawshara Bot. Yes, we hired a robot to do our dirty work. The code for the robot is being improved everyday. For now the program will serve to update the list of new songs on the front page. From there we hope to grow the robot to do even more stuff.
